I would love to review "Ear Training Chords" from last time. A little more clear, more space...
From 7th chords... slowly clearly to understands those chord qualities.

Then a little about tension chords.
First very important to understand basic chords, Major & minor ...
and 7th chords.

That would be so great if we could do more ear training chords like last time. Was happy to get first one last time but missed at least one on the others. Looking forward to understanding and hearing more basic major minor and 7th chords

I think many people got 1st part. Then a little bit confusing to others (2nd part)
So I really need to explain those slowly.

Basically I played 1 6 2 5 in diatonic for 1) Triads 2) 7th chords...
3) 7th chord with tension... 6 chord became 7th chord.

Also check out the song Starting Over by John Lennon! He uses the augmented chord over the I chord in the key of A.

There are so many songs and so many choices. Basically I did choose 1 6 2 5.
Very popular one is always 1 6 4 5 in general.

Songs are great but you need to have basic ear training skills that you can tell those chord progressions easily.

Yeah, I'm finding out that swing groove is more common than I thought. I see it in Jazz, Blues and in fact many popular songs, too, like Breaking the Girl by RHCP. I'd also like to know how to mute as one changes chords as that is the most difficult area for me to improve upon.

Thank you Michael! R 3 7 Swing groove technique is very important for harmony, chords, left hand muting technique. You can apply this to Pop, funk and many other styles.

R 3 7 then you can use
1) Root & 3rd
2) 3rd & 7th

Someone who needs to get more personal attention. You never know until you have one private lesson. Then you will know many things that you didnot noticed before.

Yes. We have enough material at Guitar Wisdom but you can not say that you don't need private lessons. Somebody really needed one...maybe... You never know until you experienced it for yourself.

I can recommend a few things. Do not rush. Play things slow. Review more often. Record yourself often. Be a good teacher for yourself.

That's why someone who only watch free YouTube videos and learn way too fast then could practice many things with slightly wrong directions. So many hours could .....

PS, A video you posted ...
1) You played it without amp...so you should have played much softer picking.
2) Those two notes should play a little bit softer than single note melody.
3) You could play it much slower.

If you took my private lessons, I would give you much more details things to watch out or change.

Listening back, recording often, I see this too now yes definitely picking too hard here.
YouTube videos not the way to grow.
Slowing down is key. Reviewing more —definitely need to do this.

It's so difficult not to notice something like that.
In private lessons, I would point out every details so you just cannot miss those after that point. YouTube videos are fun and so dangerous! Very easy to drawn by too much information.
Anybody can be teachers on YouTube world!

Slow down & record more often. Guitar is so amazing!
Definitely no end but it's so much fun to learn guitar! Guitar make your life rich inside!

Firing off the questions, I love it! My wheels are turning on that last part...

"Biggest thing wondering about is around thinking that what I am working on , is it right technique really? How can you know what needs to be corrected if you don’t even really know everything to look for? If practicing hours even slightly wrong way this could ruin our dream."

This is where regularly recording your practice and performance plays a key role in your progress. When I say regularly, I mean every week or couple of weeks, NOT every day. You can think of it like a football team reviewing the tapes from their last game (or whatever sports people do lol). Review your recording the next day or a few days later, even if you think you don't know what to look for. Just get in the habit of reviewing and analyzing. Waiting a few days helps you manage your expectations and approach it objectively.

Sometimes having a list of steps helps people, so here is an example:
1. Listen to the recording without watching it. Write down anything you notice by listening (positive, negative, etc.)
2. Play the recording another time, this time listening and watching. Write down anything you notice by watching.
3. Find one positive and one negative to focus on and find the time stamp in the recording (for easy review)
4. Go back to the positive part and ask yourself what's going right?
5. Go back to the negative part and ask yourself what's going wrong?

Investigate both! Reinforce good habits and try to kick bad ones. Of course, this is somewhat simplified, but I think it gets the point across. We are human and we will doubt ourselves, but it's essential to take action even when we feel uncertain so we keep moving forward. Recording and reviewing later on is one way to become a better guitar teacher to yourself. I think Tomo says something like, "if you do... you will find out!"

I don't watch any YouTube videos. I only listen for songs because I don't have Spotify.
