Wow! I love slide guitar and pedal steel guitar sound so much too
Happy Sunday Morning!
This one is so soulful.
Let's go to church :-)
This is the BLUES! Are you listening?
Thanks, Tomo!
Kurt
Amen!
So sweet. Changed my slow tempo Bb swing groove up to C to virtually comp Tomo like Kurt had done. Good times.
Thank you so much Kurt!
Tomo
Plesae enjoy Clay!
Tomo
Thank you Linda!
Tomo
Hey! That’s not a fajita, that’s a Fujita!
Most remarkable is you listen to that blues without looking and you say. That’s Tomo
Exactly Jeffrey.
Even when I'm shuffling thousands of songs; when you hear him, you know it is Tomo!
Kurt
Slow Blues! I need to hear all inside of me first!
So if I look at the fretboard then I think some information.... not so good!
Tomo
Thank you so much Kurt!
That was one of my bucket lists!
Tomo
Great Guitar Wisdom, Tomo.
"I need to hear all inside of me first!
So if I look at the fretboard then I think some information.... not so good!"
Thank you Linda!
Slow blues is very difficult to play because I need to be very honest on note choice.
So first... I cannot play any notes if I am thinking about what to play.
First I need to drop all my opinions.
Then I need to listen carefully ... what I hear...
If I don't hear ... then I should put my guitar down and maybe listen some blues.
This idea from my Karate teacher.. he used to invite me to his house. He ask me to play some blues.. if I play any shape sounds and no rhythm.... he stopped me playing then he puts Chet Baker record and he ask me close my eyes.
So it is very hard but when I perform.. I need to disconnect with my knowledges.
Tomo
Gadson Shuffle
from Tomo's album Blue Sky
This is great music to start the new week with!
I can listen to this over and over.
Tomo (Left) and Kirk (Right) have their Mojos working!
Kurt
Love this one Kurt!
Thank you Jeffrey!
Tomo
Thank you Kurt for sharin!
Blues! Especially good old shuffle blues is so important!
Great way to practice blues soloing over a good blues shuffle groove!
Use a metronome on 2&4.... Maybe around at 45.... Play shuffle blues bassline then soloing around bassline.
Tomo
Thanks, Tomo!
I love these important GW lessons to work on the details of the blues with a metronome.

This also shows riffs to use between shuffle bass lines:

"Good old shuffle blues is so important!" -Tomo
Like it, Kurt. I will check out both those links. Thanks for this.
STOP
Originally from the album "Super Session." by Michael Bloomfield, Al Kooper and Stephen Stills.
I learn so much by listening to Michael Bloomfield. A true master.
This guitar and organ "stopped" me in my tracks the first time I heard it when I was 15. I wanted to play the blues. Still do :-)
Kurt
STOP

Love that story Kurt. Awesome
This one has all the feels
Thanks Jeffrey. Sounds so good.
I only knew his name.
I will check out more for sure!
Love that album cover! I imagine they are talking about the chitterlings.
Kurt
Ooh, from the first note, this is so good.
The bbq sign makes me hungry and want to cook
I love this album, this song!
Hope you enjoy it!
Tomo
Oh yeah Tomo! I love this album so much. That is the first song on Side 1! My first real blast of Bloomfield. Knocked me over.
I was blown away by these blues. Still listen to it all the time.
Song 2-"Stop" was next. I love Bloomfield!
Kurt
Mike Bloomfield and Al Kooper ALWAYS called each other, "Michael" and "Alan".
Plus I am a big fan of Stephen Stills so this album is pure bonus.
Loving this
I'm a Stephen Stills fan too Linda.
I love this Dylan song that Kooper and Stephen Stills do on that "Super Session" album. Pop Blues?
Stephen is only on side 2- Playing guitar only. Not singing. Bloomfield is only on side 1 and doesn't sing either.
Al Kooper does all the singing and keyboards. Mostly instrumental album.
I bought that album because I am a Stills fan. This was the first thing he did after he left the Buffalo Springfield. Before CSN or solo albums.
Kurt
Kurt - I found this record (yes, vinyl) in a second hand shop for something like $3. HOLY COW!!! WHAT A RECORD!
Nice Matt!
Love those scores! I always remember where I got my important albums like that one.
I've worn out a few copies.
Good luck to Eagles.
Be cool if they play Seahawks for a trip to the Super Bowl to play Sammi's Patriots:-)
Kurt
Yes, Matt. Amazing scores in second hand shops. Allman Brothers Live at the Fillmore East for $2!! And Stephen Still 2 for $5 (although it's pretty rough. Still worth it.)
Love these ones. Youre lucking out with the good deals Matt and Linda
How about this one. Eric Clapton amazing how you can tell it’s him when you just hear a few notes already. Im trying to discover why. Anyway Personally love this Clapton period. Another titled Same old , plain ol’ ..
Oh, yeah, Jeffrey. So good.
A few years ago I read his autobiography. What a life story, and amazing that he is still with us. He overcame some serious substance issues that would have taken out most others. I saw him in concert when he had James Cotton on harmonica! Brilliant.
I've been listening to a bit of country lately. Been really enamored with Vince Gill and Brad Paisley. Stumbled across this song this afternoon. Listen to the voice on the second verse.
This is really cool Matt!
BP and BB letting the good times roll for sure.
You got me rolling into Sunday morning with a smile!
Kurt
Laissez les bons temps rouler is a Cajun French expression (Louisiane French).
"Let the good times roll."
It is not used in other french-speaking areas and will not be understood.
That's a banger Matt - liked that one.
Great one for sure Matt
So awesome, Matt!
Great thread!
Thanks guys!
