How in the world do you go from playing in the living room by yourself to playing with other people? When are you ready to play with other people skill set wise?
Is there a good way to get out of the box? I think I am afraid to try it anyway because of à la j of confidence.
Thank you for asking this question. First, don't worry! And you can prepare your playing parts first. Maybe simple song to play chords. How about blues? Shuffle bassline or shuffle riff groove.
In order to play with others, you need to develop how to listen. You can learn some melodies and simple soloing parts. No need to create anything on the sopt. Blue Monk is great melody!
You can build your confidence from preparing parts strongly.
