Picking , less movement
Light touch
Thank you.

Day 19 | Week 3
recording today revealed glimpses of what good sounds like when pick pressure is just right.
More work on this will bring reward! Posture also needs more work to maintain without thought. Thumb is improving, very encouraging.
Thank You : )
Good job!
Great to hear that!
Good picking sound!
Right pressure
Less pressure
Soft touch
Thumb position
Thank you.

_Day 20_
Today I wrote down the matters need attention in my notebook: Posture (straight).
Elbow ,body.
Less pressure.
Note sustain.
Light touch.
No noise.
Slow.
More Slowly.
About ten minutes of working,I try not to look at my video picture,I look at the couch at room.
Be aware that my posture well change involuntarily as my body wobble.
Sometimes can't hold on to the note sustain.
The fingers of the left hand sometimes shake.
The thumb and left elbow are trying to establish a fit, but it's clumsy.
These four things are from the video recording.
Thank you ! Have a nice day! *smile*
Good job!
I write anything down on my little note book by my hand writing.
Try to sustain far longer! And use less pressure as possible as you can.
Video recording is so good! I do everyday!
Thank you.

Day 20 week 3
Working my way up and down the fret board insanely slow. Slowing down, I find, takes effort and concentration. Not only is it a work out for my fingers and hands, it’s a work out for my brain. But after a minute or so, my body starts to move with the new tempo, my posture feels normal, and my fingers go where they’re supposed to go. Slow is good.

Good job!
I did a little more sustain each note! Super slow!
Yes! Focus is important! Think nothing!
Thank you.
Tomo
Thanks for the short videos Tomo they were very helpful
I have been having trouble ascending from the first fret with my middle finger slipping up the fret board making a noise when I place my ring finger, because of the stretch. Seeing how little thumb pressure you use I tried playing without my thumb, no string noise! I seems to me my hand is very gradually rolling up with each finger and the lower fingers are getting lighter with each ascending finger until by the time I'm playing with my little finger my index is just hovering over, barely touching the string. Now I'm not sure if this is cheating?! Adding back my thumb super lightly and putting my intention into my fingers seems to work for me.
The super light thumb has also improved my descending. The problem I have/had is when I lift my fingers sometime they seem to stick to the string and cause noise. I have found if I slightly push away as I lift they are quiet.
Now I need to be consistent with both also I need to work on my posture, movement and relaxing myself which I am yet to over come.
You're very welcome! Glad to be helpful.
God job! You have learned about thumb position and less pressure!
I teach triads more and triad lessons is all about thumb position!
My thumb placement is super light!
That's why a strap length is super important too!
I am so happy to hear this!
You discovered it!
Yes! Consistency, commitment!
Thank you.

Here we go!
Palm muting technique
• EXCELLENT camera angle! I can see exactly what your right hand is doing. (and left hand!).
• From Tomo: "Time to think, time to feel, time to adjust. Every moment I like to enjoy."
Is that a thinline Tele? You have so many lovely guitars! Jealous! :)
I made this at Berklee! I have two music stands and this dedicate lesson videos for my students. I make so many videos! So much fun!
Take your time to feel, think, adapt, apply, adjust, wait, all that!
I think this community is so amazing to me!
Thank you.

Hi Tomo:
This question is about the sheet you held up for a screen shot in the video. It looks a lot like the exercises in the William Leavitt Method book. Is that correct? Either way, I’ll grab a screenshot from the video. Thanks so much for the details in this video.

Day 20 Complete!
Definitely found myself struggling with noise again in first and second position descending. This will continue to be an area of focus. Slowed down and tried to relax as best I could. Keep going!
Best,
Erik
Try to play slower.
Use less thumb
Make sure to use a strap
Body & Elbow balance.
Relax!
Thank you.
Tomo
Week 3, day 20
Thank you for the new videos that are posted each week. Good to have some midstream feedback.
Trying to internalize:
• Alternate picking
• Finger and thumb positioning
• “Try to be better than before”
Who knew such a “simple” chromatic exercise would be so revealing. Good job all!
You're very welcome!
For this challenge, no alternate picking.
Use soft thumb position (always moving)
Less pressure.
It's very hard to do well... that's why this type foundation is far important than soloing!
I always try to teach this chromatic scale in details... but most people think it's not that hard... that's why people don't notice in micro details!
I do this everyday!
Thank you.
Tomo
Day 20 completed. Focusing again on body movement for timing, and fixed focus on object in the room while ascending, and descending slowly. Placing attention too on left hand/fingers noticing any tension arising. How relaxed can it become? Thank you Tomo
Good job!
Overall, slowly, slower!
Softer, less pressure!
Thumb position, very soft and moving all the time. Never press at all.
You're very welcome!
Thank you.

Week 3 | Day 20
Thank you for the palm muting video, Tomo. It cleared some of my confusion. Other than my attempt at palm muting after I watched the video, I am reasonably pleased with today's practice. I feel like I am starting to progress, but my palm muting is a work-in-progress.

You're very welcome!
I posted a quire a few additional videos on my YouTube Channel (Unlisted)
I think I have more than 2000 unlisted videos!
Good job!
Thank you!

Day #20!!
Worked for 10 minutes today! I really focused on the palm muting technique. Thank you so much Mr.Fujita for the video! It was very helpful.
I also worked on the descending notes. I am noticing a lot of improvement in my finger dexterity!
Thank you so much Mr.Fujita for giving us the chance to complete this challenge. It’s been very helpful and I’ve improved a lot
Max
Good job!
You're very welcome!
Picking position
Palm muting

Day 20 | Week 3
Today I focussed on right hand especially pick pressure and watching out for old habit of resting pinky on scratch guard.
Floating instead is good, more relaxed. More slowly. Thank you for recent video, very helpful.
Thank You : )
Good job!
Light touch!
Less pressure!
I got rid of that habit myself.,
Floating is the best!
You're very welcome!
Thank you.
