Please read "The November Challenge" threads. Those will give you inspiration & how important about foundation. Please watch " Essential Theory " section (One String Approach) Practice Routine video. Blues Soloing Etude too. Please copy that blues phrase with clean tone.
So you can away from looking at the fretboard. Definitely simple shuffle blues bassline & R 3 7 Swing groove. Pick a few videos and watch 2-3 times.

Ken, most of the times it feels like I'm using the same phrasing and scales. I'd like to break through that. I hear a lot of cool guys from the new generation mixing diminished runs and adding a jazzy approach to their lines, and I'd like to be able to do so too.

I'm loving the lessons and how the website is organized.

The initial step is harder, I believe. We don't know what we don't know... So an initial guidance is super important, I feel.
I'm following Tomo's recommended videos and it is opening my mind to so much already. The website took me to the spread triads lesson and it is a game changer.
