Hi Jefferey and all! Posting a comment to the forum for the first time here for this interesting thread. There is a lot of music to discover. I only know about a half you guys listed so far. I went through a lot over the years, e.g., Miles, Coltrane, Parker, Rollins, Monk, Hancock... But for perhaps the last 20 years I listen to Clifford Brown (with or without Max Roach) by far the most. My favorite album is At Basin Street (after Sonny Rollins replaced Harold Land). I would pick I'll remember April if I have to choose one. I may be an odd guy here, but I do not have my favorite jazz guitar player, yet, and I have been trying to explore more.
Birth of the Blue Kurt mentioned I believe is the same as 1958 Miles quickly comparing both on Amazon, and it might be more easily found if someone wants to buy it. 1958 Miles was rather famous/popular in Japan, before I moved out from Japan 30 plus years ago although I do not have it. Miles really was a huge star in Japan.
Tomo-san,
I did not transcribe Rose Room yet, but I transcribed Grand Slam not too long ago. The original speed is too fast for me so I have to play slower, but the solo still sounds nice for me at a lower speed.
