Never heard this before. Thanks Linda really pretty
Whole album, Finnish jazz with nice, a bit older sound (that is, not modern "scandi-jazz"). Kabul, Transition and Commitment are my favourites.

Mija this is really cool. Im so glad you sent this. How did you hear about this. love how many of these suggestions are ones I would never find on my own
It is, isn't it? I Stumbled upon an interview of the sax player/band leader with some musical inserts, really liked the sound, went and found this album.
Like this Mija, Kabul is very Coltrane-esque!
Hope this isn't over-sharing. Has anyone ever experienced a melody popping into one's dream? Last night this catchy tune made an appearance in my dream, so I woke up and went straight to the google machine to figure out what is was. I had no lyrics, only the melody. I had almost given up hope of finding out what is was when finally I found it. Surely I've heard it somewhere in the past, but couldn't pin it down. Sorry to be getting kind of out there....
What beautiful sharing Linda ! And what a beautiful dream !
You dream have so beautiful inspiration , i remember last time my dream have so inspiration is , ‘ I walking into a colorful ice cream town , everything made by ice cream ! now i want , if have any chance can walking by this cute town again , wish can add this Almost Like Being Love into that dream ...

I love Ella!
Look for Ella Fitzgerald and Mel Torme explains Jazz at the Grammys... video from Instagram!
Amazing!
Tomo
I love it! Plus, we have again managed to weave food into this thread! Have a great weekend.
Holy moly, just went and watched that. What an amazing moment. Now THAT will be ringing in my ears tonight!
The Queen & King of jazz scat! Awesome Tomo!
Love this Linda. I need to listen to Ella more
Yes, I agree Clay, the comping is so good. I think it’s a gateway to great soloing too.
Awesome Cassandra Wilson song, some of the chords are easy to pick out. Beautiful, clean melody. Kurt, your new guitar(s) will sound great on this.
Darkness on the Delta.
This is very soulful! Thanks Linda!
Yes, my guitar(s) will sound great if I keep going with the help of Tomo and all my friends here!
Kurt
For some reason , The video is unavailable , actually is almost Music album video from the thread Jazz listener thread is unavailable .. Someone know what happen ?
I noticed this too, Jiayang. I would copy and paste the link into a new browser. It appears to be working today, though.
Yes!
"Let's keep going!"
Jiayang, perhaps it's a browser issue? Thanks for your perseverance.
My Karate techer gave me 3 of 60 minutes cassette tapes of jazz guitar.
Tape 1: Blues
Tape 2: Medium Tempo Jazz Standards
Tape 3: Ballads Jazz Standards
This song was one of these tapes.
I love this solo very much. Like a singer... singing!
I transcrived this solo in 1988(?) When I was a Berklee student.
Please listen to it.
Thank you.
Tomo
Thank you (and your Karate instructor) for exposing me to this great music Tomo.
I love the clean tone and playing. It does sound like a singer singing and telling a story.
Drummer is always really adding to the conversation and Bass solo is very cool too.
Love when I find out about new music.
Have a great day!
Kurt
What a great artist. Your karate instructor was a great teacher on so many levels.
You're very welcome Kurt! I am so thankful!
Great band, musical conversation indeed!
Have a great day! Thank you.
Tomo
Thank you Linda.
My Karate teacher had a lot of passion on guitar & jazz.
Only 3 60 minites cassette tapes really changed my life.
Yes!
Tomo
I suspect that you also had a big influence on him. Maybe he tells Tomo stories to his friends these days.
Really enjoyed listening to that. Made me think of one of my first jazz cassettes maybe a couple of years after this. Dude was like 21 at the time. Blew me away.
Oh so nice. Great discovery, Clay. Looks like Mark is still a relatively young guy and still thriving.
Thanks Clay!
I love the way he solos. Really keeps you interested in hearing where he goes next as he covers ground.
That repeating octave(?) thing he does at 3:36 is cool.
Something or someone would get hurt if I jumped in the air holding my big guitar like he does in the picture :-)
Kurt
Same here Kurt. Linda - his son is about the same age now as he was when this was released - he's a drummer coming up in the jazz scene.
Good one clay. Great addition
Beyond words!
I love how Van sings like Tomo on this! Just like Tomo teaches us to do over a blues progression.
Kurt
"Da Da Da Da Da Da"= Van Morrison and Tomo Fujita
I love this!
So good!
Fun chord progression & great guitar fills.
Thanks for sharing.
Tomo
What a cool album. Van Morrison is just drenched in soulful sound. This is why we play music.
Like wind through the wheat field , then the plant is dancing — “ Da Da Da Da ” , Thank you Kurt ,
This is so Beautiful !
jiayang, your words are always so beautiful. I always enjoy your posts.
So happy that , Linda ! There is so grateful that we are here and sharing our life .
And much happiness spark gift !
That's why we play music !
This is really nice. Thanks Kurt
How about a little Japanese fusion from late 70s?
I love Kenji Ohmura very much!
His playing really remind me George Benson, Cornel Dupree a lot.
And BB King type traditional Blues feel. Kenji went San Francisco for studying...
Please enjoy this!
Tomo
Wow. Thank you so much Tomo for sharing. Love this. And never heard before. I have been listening to breezin’ album. Not sure why but the feeling I have listening to this is similar. Maybe there is some space between playing that draws me in listening and then you are along for the ride or flight. I listen to Teasin’ a lot too you shared with us earlier. Boston flight!
Totally new to me. Great sound and jamming!
I love the 1970's!
Thanks, Tomo!
Kurt
Nice! Totally agree with Jeffrey on the Breezin' call - I definitely get that feeling. I like the volume swell in the beginning that sounds like lap steel, and the unresolved ending.
Beautiful, Tomo. Great sound. I will try to listen to the entire album.
You're very welcome guys!
Glad you guys are enjoying it!
Tomo
So I was at my favorite happy hour spot last Friday and heard a familiar sound. Had to Shazam it - it was Ronny Jordan. I first heard him on Guru's Jazzmatazz Vol 1&2 - supercool hip-hp / jazz crossover albums from the mid 90's. Anyway, it's been years, but thought I'd include this:
I really like this!
5/8!
This is super cool. So clean!
Takes you on a little trip!
Thanks Clay!
Kurt
Played this morning a couple times w some coffee this is nice clay
